Wendy Fehr is the Director of the Immigrant Sector Council of Calgary. Wendy’s experience has focused on issues of migration and human rights at the local and international levels including working on policy and research with the United Nations High Commission for Refugees and the High Commissioner for Human Rights. Wendy is inspired by the process of collaboration to recognize the intersections between public policy and systems, and to work collaboratively to strengthen policy and systems-level responses.

Lisa Elford is a researcher and development practitioner with experience managing strategic partnerships between the non-profit and post-secondary sectors. She has a background in Geography and International Relations and is passionate about grounded, rigorous research to support front line service delivery in the non-profit sector.

Kirstin Blair began working in Calgary’s immigrant-serving sector to support new immigrants in their settlement and integration in Calgary. Her skills in community development led her to working in outreach to immigrant populations throughout Calgary. In 2013, she joined ISCC to support the organization as a program manager and to share her knowledge in community engagement. Kirstin is a critical thinker who is driven by the systems-level focus offered by ISCC.

Valbona has worked in the non-profit sector for many years. She has extensive experience in office management both in Canada and Albania and is presently studying HR Management at Bow Valley College. She is compassionate and desires to assist immigrants in their transition to Canada and as they become valuable members of the community in Calgary. Her goal is to give to the community her very best in all aspects.

Gayatri Moorthi is a researcher and development worker with international experience in building and developing multi-stakeholder projects. She holds a PH.D. in Social Work from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She has worked on a range of mixed methods research projects, developed evaluations and programming for non-profits as well as community-based organizations. Gayatri is deeply committed to bridging the gap between social policy, research and intervention.
