Created as a forum to address immigrant issues in Calgary.
The ISCC was created in 2001 as a result of a systems-wide evaluation of the Calgary immigrant-serving sector. The evaluation was commissioned by six major funding organizations, from which the Howard Research Report - Calgary Immigrant Service, Evaluation and Systems Overview was published. The ISCC has carried out many of the recommendations outlined in the report, while identifying and addressing emerging issues and trends affecting immigrants and refugees in Calgary.
