| ISCC Archive Events/PresentationsEvent: The 11th National Metropolis Conference The 11th National Metropolis Conference in Calgary - a city poised to become one of Canada's major immigrant-receiving cities - will bring together researchers, policy-makers and community practitioners to explore the frontiers of research and practice in six policy priority areas: 1) Citizenship and Social, Cultural and Civic Integration; 2) Economic and Labour Market Integration; 3) Family, Children and Youth; 4) Housing and Neighbourhoods; 5) Justice, Policing and Security ; and 6) Welcoming Communities: The Role of the Host Communities in Attracting, Integrating and Retaining Newcomers and Minorities. ISCC Co-Chairs and staff will deliver three different presentations on Calgary’s immigrant sector and the initiatives ISCC is undertaking to address pressing issues. ISCC Presentations
Event: Community Development Conference Challenging Leadership for Changing Times - Is an engaging two-day conference focusing on leadership in community development giving practioners an opportunity to build practice skills, examine current successes and challenges in local leadership initiatives, create linkages between community development practitioners who represent a diversity of sectors and develop common language and understandings of community development and leadership. Event: Fall 2008 City Career Fair The Fall 2008 City Career Fair, hosted by The City of Calgary and ISCC, provided workshops facilitated by agencies who serve immigrants and had representatives from professional associations in the fields of technology, engineering and finance available to answer their questions.
